Ullassa

sun rays warming new morning routines

flower buds emerging for another year of bloom

glistening lakes cradling a rising sun

mourning doves signaling weekend’s ease

orange and pink wisps in a slumbering sky

ullassa is

a Sanskrit term

an appreciation for small treasures in nature

what I used to refer to as a slice of joy

I now know is deemed

ullassa

A moment of ullassa on February 17, 2021.

  1. Your photo is stunning. As I read the definition of ullassa as an appreciation for small treasures in nature I thought about last March. It probably was the one Springtime in my life where I daily took a walk and took time to appreciate nature. Now I had the matching word!

  2. Pure beauty! Your posts have the effect of a meditation. My eyes rested on this treasure: “glistening lakes cradling a rising sun”

  3. You have so much packed into such a short poem. It is a credit to your description and use of words for sure. The word itself brings peace (where are you getting these words btw) and I feel deeply connected to the moments that bring ullassa – your slices are “ullassa”. A term I am now adopting #GoldThingsInLife and #Ullassa 🙂
